27 - Sarah Woodward (1819 - 1861)
Born in 1819, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, Sarah married her first husband Joseph CRAWLEY in 1837 in Hitchin, between them they had the one child, Ellen (1845). On the 1841 census they lived at Back Street, Hitchin with an Ann Poulter (relationship unknown). On the 1851 census Sarah was living with her daughter Ellen and John Brightman (a shoemaker) at the Highlanders Cottages, Hitchin with eight members of the Poulter family.

Joseph Crawley, Sarah's husband died in 1845.

In 1853 Sarah married John BRIGHTMAN in Clerkenwell, London. They had five children Mary (1851), John William (1857?), Henry (1860), Walter (1857), and John (1858). John's occupation was a shoe maker and Journeyman.

Sarah's daughter Mary Ann's birth certifcate states her surname as Crawley, but she was christened Brightman on the 7th August 1857 in St Mary's church, Hitchin along with her brother John William who was christened with the surname of Crawley Brightman.

Sarah died in 1861 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
